Memories of Harry Ree
Harry Ree was a charismatic French teacher who taught at BGS from September 1946 to the Spring of 1951. Although not at BGS for a long period the impact that Harry had at BGS was profound; he clearly left a huge impression on the pupils that he taught.
Mr Jonathan Daube, a colleague and friend of the late Harry Ree is writing a book about Harry and appealed to the BGS community for memories of Harry for his writing.
The response has been huge and a document containing the memories of 22 Old Bradfordians has been compiled and forwarded to Mr Daube. Click here to download a copy of the document and read for yourself the vivid, often entertaining and sometimes touching memories of Old Bradfordians who knew Harry Ree.

BGS Venture Scouts 1969
At Easter 1969 the BGS Venture Scouts became the Pioneers to walk the newly re-opened Dales Way footpath. Mike Crafer (1959-69) and Steve Kerry (1960-69) worked with the famous Colin Speakman who did so much to re-open the 73 mile footpath. Click here see an annotated photo of the BGS Venture Scouts before they set out on their journey. Click here to read Steve Kerry's day to day log of the journey reproduced on the Skyware website.
In March this year, to mark the 40th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of Colin Speakman's Dales Way guide, a new edition was published. A launch event took place on 30 March in Ilkley with Colin and some members of the Dales Way Association who took part in the first official Dales Way walk in 1969.
Oganisers were delighted to welcome Old Bradfordians Steve Kerry, John Foster, Mike Crafer and Pete Kewley who joined the group to walk the first two and a half miles of the long distance footpath.
